The Carpenters Arms & Football
Meet a bunch of really enthusiastic guys who love kicking a football around!
There are so many guys at The Carpenter’s Arms (Staff and residents alike) who love football that we decided to start our own football team.
We play at the local leisure centre every week and take on other teams such as Ibstock and other rehabs & churches. We are definitely moving up the ladder because we now have a coach who’s helping get us into the big league!
“Along with the passion that goes into a friendly hour of football, we’ve found that our residents respond better to team sports, gain pride and develop camaraderie. Relationships with each other always seem better after a game of football and the banter is not something to be missed!”
Rich Spence - Co-ordinates the sports programme
“Watch this space, stars are being made!”
James Nicol - assists in the sports programme
We asked some other Rehabs if they would like to play in a tournament and the result is 17 teams would like to play. We are currently sorting out a league and will post it up shortly.
Why choose the Carpenter's Arms?
